Although the French team have not been in spectacular form domestically this season they did get off to a flying start in Europe with a 32-16 win over Amatori & Calvisano.

And Neath’s assistant coach Rowland Phillips knows that his side will have to be on top form if they are to overcome the French side.

He said: “Although Beziers are not playing well in their domestic league, French clubs on home soil in the Heineken Cup will be a totally different proposition.

“I am sure they will be looking to get their season back on track in this competition.

“We now have more experience in so far as playing in Europe is concerned, and we particularly know what to expect when playing in France.

“We have to play with a winning attitude, as if you put these sides on a pedestal you will loose. We defend well, and have confidence that the work we have put in will get us a result.”

Meanwhile, on the injury front Brett Sinkinson is well on the road to recovery from his Achilles and knee injuries and is now approaching full fitness.

Adrian Durston is also recovering well from a ripped bicep and is likely to be fit to play Cardiff at the end of the month.

Worse news for Neath is that in form Andy Moore is still suffering with rib/collar bone bruising sustained against Leicester. Moore will be out of action for two weeks.
