Alun Wyn Jones delighted a young fan at this morning’s captain’s run. Four-year-old Caleb Forster was pitchside with his parents at Principality Stadium as Wales prepared for tomorrow’s sell-out match against England, when the Welsh captain gave him an impromptu tour of the hallowed turf.

Wales made three changes to their starting XV for the second leg of their RWC warm-up matches against England in Cardiff. On naming his team, head coach Warren Gatland said “it is important we step it up and put in a big display in front a of a packed Principality Stadium”.

Thirteen years after the last pair of brothers represented Wales together on the rugby pitch, siblings Jonathan and James Davies are set to line up against England tomorrow. They follow in the footsteps of former Cardiff Blues duo Jamie and Nicky Robinson.

On this day 44 years ago, Sir Tasker Watkins became the first Welshman to receive the Victoria Cross in World War II. We revisit the circumstances of the future Welsh Rugby Union president receiving the highest of military honours, in what was a breathtaking display of bravery.

Wales Women named their side for the U18 Sevens Home Nations. Head coach Jonathan Hooper has selected a 12-strong squad for the tournament, which will be held at Swansea University this weekend.

Robin McBryde described last Sunday at Twickenham as “good for finding out where we are” in our latest Coach Catch-up. In terms of fine-tuning their play on the field, Wales’ forwards coach said it was just a case of “sharpening the axe” before the Rugby World Cup begins next month in Japan.

Wales U18 drew 31-all with South Africa Schools A in Paarl – part of the country’s renowned Schools Week tournament. We also saw how Wales’ Exiles programme continues to bear fruit, with the likes of Theo Bevacqua shining for the age grade side in South Africa.

In his player column, Wales back rower Josh Navidi covers a range of topics, including his Love Island connection, his proud Welsh-Iranian heritage, and his delight at returning to international colours against England in Cardiff.
