At 14.00 on Sunday September 1st, Wales’ 2019 Rugby World Cup squad will be announced.
Here we answer all the questions you have about the squad announcement.
FINAL SELECTION MEETING
Wales take on Ireland at Principality Stadium on Saturday August 31 and this will be the squad’s final chance to impress in front of Wales’ coaching team as later that night they will sit down for their final selection meeting.
The coaches will return to the National Centre of Excellence following the game on Saturday evening to finalise the squad.
The fixture against Ireland is not only a chance for players to impress; it is also a chance for supporters to see the squad in action on home turf for the final time before heading to Japan.
HOW WILL THE PLAYERS FIND OUT?
There is an individual approach to this.
Players in the squad will watch the announcement video along with the rest of the nation at 14.00 on Sunday. They will watch with the rest of us as the 31 players are revealed.
Players not in the squad have been asked individually how they want to find out. Each player not selected will of course have a detailed de-brief conversation with coaches later in the day, but ahead of the 14.00 announcement players have been asked how they want to hear the disappointing news with options ranging from a telephone call, email, text or finding out live at 14.00
HOW WILL WE FIND OUT?
The announcement will be made with a video at 14.00 on Sunday.
The video will be outputted across WRU channels (website, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram) and that video will reveal the 31 players selected.
A whole host of follow-up assets including graphics, written pieces and background features will follow.
Warren Gatland will then hold a press conference at 15.00 to speak about the selection.
