Fly half Byron Hayward led the way for Ponty with a match total of 33 points, gained from two tries, seven conversions and a hat-trick of penalty goals. Rumney’s response included tries by skipper Christian Wills and young lock Grant Harrington.

Llandovery raced to a 25-0 lead over Bonymaen that included ten points by Gareth Jones, who only transferred from Bonymaen in late October. Then, the Drovers relaxed and Bonymaen ran in three tries for a 17-point haul that proved just too late.

Aberavon ran in nine tries in a 57-10 win over Tredegar at the Talbot Athletic Ground as fly half Jamie Davies led the way with a try and six conversions and police officer Ricky Price scored a brace of tries, while wing Lee Abdul scored his tenth league try of the season.

Cross Keys won the Gwent derby match at Pandy Park by defeating Blackwood 26-11 in a match that saw wing Romilly Barnett, the former Rhymney flier, scoring both the Keys tries. The club also announced the signing of lock forward Lee Mruk from Newbridge.

Narberth have lost their winning touch as they fell to their eighth defeat in nine matches when they lost by 50-14 at home to Carmarthen Quins, despite two tries by wing Andrew Jones. The Quins seven tries included three by wing Josh Freeman and 18 points by fly half Giles Thomas.

Bedwas gained a good 39-3 win at Central Park, Beddau, crossing for five tries with two coming from wing Nathan Hill and 12 points by the experienced Paul Phillips.

Treorchy did well to score two tries in their match away to Glamorgan Wanderers, but the bottom club still fell to defeat by 22-12 with full back Jason Pocock scoring 12 of the points for the home side.

The fixture between Llanharan and Newbridge was reversed to the Welfare Ground and Newbridge took advantage to win 32-23, scoring 4-3 on the try-count. Jason Williams scored 14 points for Newbridge and Gareth Turner grabbed two tries, while Ryan Jones, on loan from Bridgend, scored one of the Llanharan tries.

Performance of the day was possibly by Tondu, who also play on a Pandy Park pitch, as they put Whitland to the sword with a 44-3 win that saw the left boot of Mark Jones land seven successful goals for 17 points and former South Wales Police wing Daryll Thomas touched down two of the five Tondu tries, while New Zealander Scott Penney scored the three Whitland points in his first appearance of the season after transferring back from Dunvant.
