Young Forced Into Changes

Cardiff coach David Young has made seven changes to the side that were defeated 11-25 at Northampton last weekend for their Heineken Cup Round 4 battle.

Young’s options have been limited due to injuries to key players, skipper Martyn Williams (dead leg), Andrew Lewis (back strain), Rhys Williams (knee), and John Tait (neck)

Lewis’ injury means Lewis Collins will make his full debut at hooker. The 19-year-old from Rhoose and was a member of last season’s cup-winning Cardiff Youth team.

Nick Robinson partners brother Jamie at centre and South African Donavan van Vuuren plays his second game of the season at full-back. Other changes in the backs see Anthony Sullivan on the wing and Richard Smith at scrum-half.

In the back row the new faces are Emyr Lewis, a replacement last week, and Robin Sowden-Taylor.

Replacements: Tim Payne, Darren Fenton, A N Other, Dan Baugh, Ryan Powell, Dean Dewdney, Matt Allen.
