LONDON WASPS v PONTYPRIDD
Last season’s PARKER PEN SHIELD runners-up Pontypridd tackle in-form London Wasps in the first leg of their semi-final double-header. The first leg kicks-off on Saturday night in front of the S4C cameras at Adams Park, with the crucial return leg at the ‘House of Pain’ televised live on BBC Wales thirteen days later. Lynn Howells’ troops crashed out of the Principality Cup last weekend at the hands of Cardiff, and will be hoping the hands of former Cardiff scrum-half Rob Howley – now pulling the strings at Wasps – have an uncharacteristically bad day.

PARKER PEN SHIELD SEMI-FINAL (LEG1)
PETRARCA PADOVA v CAERPHILLY
In the PARKER PEN SHIELD, Caerphilly represent Wales. They have a two legged-tie against Italian side Petrarca Padova. Caerphilly’s recent results in the Welsh Premiership will have Mark Ring reconsidering his tactics, but Ring insists his side enjoy the challenge of European rugby, and that his relaxed style of management is reaping rewards in the European arena. The first leg is away in Italy on Friday evening.
