0 mins: Jonny Wilkinson kicks off for England, Stephen Jones sends the ball 50m down field into touch.

1 mins: England win their first lineout, scrum half Matt Dawson finds space in midfield, and darts 50m into the Wales 22, he feeds Robinson who is tackled. Wales are offside at a ruck. Wilkinson’s penalty goal attempt hits the post.

3 mins: The first scrum of the game, Wales have the put in, and come away with the ball. Jones’ clearance fails to find touch

4 mins: Wales centre Mark Taylor makes a break into the England 22, …Wales then have men over on the right, but Robert Sidoli drops the ball as he stretches for the tryline

6 mins: Another good attack from Wales, good hands from Jones to Taylor. Wing Shane Williams chips ahead, but the ball bounces out.

7 mins: Wales penalised at the scrum

8 mins: Wales trying to play with flair and pace

10 mins: England called offside at a ruck. Jones’ 30m penalty goal attempt strikes the upright

12 mins: Both sides look nervous, and are conceding silly penalties, making the rhythm of the match very disjointed

14 mins: England have a sustained period of forward pressure, but are failing to make good ground, they eventually turn over.

15 mins; The sides exchange kicks, and Robinson’s huge touch finder sees a Wales line-out on their own 10m line. Wales win the line-out, but are penalised for hands in the ruck.

17 mins: Wilkinson opens the scoring with a 45m kick. WALES 0 ENGLAND 3

20 mins: England make a mess of the line-out, but Wales captain Colin Charvis is unlucky to knock on

21 mins: England put together a few phases, but Wales keep them out of the 22. They are forced to attempt a drop goal, but Wilkinson’s effort fades to the left.

23 mins: England beginning to turn up the heat, putting pressure on the Wales tryline. Wales penalised for hands on in the ruck. Wilkinson’s cheeky quick chip to Back who is waiting in the scoring zone is caught by Mark Jones.

27 mins: England again putting together the phases, but good Wales defence, the possession eventually ends when Mark Taylor gives Mike Tindall the fear, and the England centre drops the ball

28 mins: England’s forwards making the hard yards into Wales half. Wilkinson’s chip though is well read by Mark Taylor and Wales clear

29 mins: An amazing Wales try. Williams collects a bizarre kick through from Wilkinson, Gareth Cooper collects the pass from Williams, quick hands from Thomas and Williams again, who nearly drops it, but finds the pass to Jones who scores, but the Scarlets 10 misses the extras. WALES 5 ENGLAND 3

31 mins: Jones makes a smart kick behind the England defence, Williams causes panic as he runs in at pace, England penalised for holding on. Jones kicks to the corner.

32 mins: A superb lineout drive from the forwards is finished off by Charvis. Jones misses the conversion from the far left WALES 10 ENGLAND 3

35 mins: Wales look very dangerous every time they get the ball. England panicking in defence.

38 mins: Wales defence holds firm, and they turnover England – who look, tired, lacking in creative ideas and incapable of scoring

40 mins: Charivs makes a 30 m break, and there is an overlap on the right hand side, but Neil Back forces Mark Jones out, and the referee calls time on the half.

HALF TIME: WALES 10 ENGLAND 3

40 mins: Jones kicks-off the second half for Wales

42 mins: Charivs penalised for coming into the side of a ruck, Wilkinson kicks to the corner. An awful lineout throw means the moves comes to nothing

43 mins Robinson makes an excellent 50m break, slicing open the Wales defence with a trademark sidestep and burst of sheer pace, he unselfishly offloads to Will Greenwood who scores in the corner. Wilkinson makes the difficult conversion WALES 10 ENGLAND 10

45 mins: England make another good break lead by Mike Tindall, and are camped on the Wales try line, McBryde in his enthusiasm, strays offside. Wilkinson punishes Wales. WALES 10 ENGLAND 13

48 mins: Mike Catt having an big influence on the game with excellent tactical kicking.

50 mins: England have good possession, Stephen Jones is penalised for offside. England opt to keep the scoreboard ticking over, and Wilkinson obliges with a 30m kick straight thought the posts . WALES 10 ENGLAND 16

52 mins: Gareth Thomas bursts into the 22, and Wales attack the England tryline, there is an overlap on the right hand side but the English defence holds firm.

53 mins: Good set piece scrum play from Wales, quick hands through the three quarters, Mark Jones almost scores. England escape

54 mins: Wales have all the possession and territory

55 mins: Gareth Thomas guilty of holding on in the tackle. Wilkinson scores a 40m kick from the right hand side WALES 10 ENGLAND 19

66 mins: Wales look tired, by contrast England appear focused

70 mins: Dwayne Peel burst in to the 22, good handling, Mark Taylor nearly scores in the far right, the crossfield kick is fumbled by Dallaglio, Martyn Williams collects the loose ball in the scoring zone and touches down. Iestyn Harris makes the tough conversion. WALES 17 ENGLAND 25

73 mins: Back is called offside, and gives the referee some backchat. The kick is now in range for Harris, but he slices his kick badly and England are let off the hook

74 mins: Wales are looking more confident now, but another move breaks down when Gethin Jenkins knocks-on

75 mins: Wales have another penalty. Harris kicks to the corner. England defend well, and Catt clears.

77 mins: Wales put together a number of phazes, but the move breaks down when Shane Williams knocks-on

79 mins: The sides exchange kicks. Wales lose their lineout, and Catt makes another good clearing kick.

80 mins: One last burst from Wales, but it’s tuned over, and Wilkinson ends the match with a fine drop goal WALES 17 ENGLAND 28
