Wales wing Shane Williams can be forgiven for hoping his déjà vu will last all week – after going down with flu for the second time in successive ‘pre-New Zealand game’ training weeks!
The last time Williams didn’t train due to flu, current New Zealand coach Steve Hansen was helping to engineer Wales ‘so-near-yet-so-far’ assault on their Southern Hemisphere cousins in the Rugby World Cup 2003 group match – a performance the current side will be hoping to emulate, if not surpass.
Williams will make himself available for selection in time for the Millennium Stadium game on Saturday, although he has taken the day off training today (Monday) to aid recuperation.
