Wales return to the Rugby Europe tournaments for the first time since 2019 and will compete in the Trophy competition looking for promotion to the Championship event next season.
Wales will face Portugal, Sweden and Lithuania tomorrow, followed by Hungary, Romania and Turkey on Sunday in the Rugby Europe Trophy Event in Zabki.
Wales Women’s U18s Sevens head coach, Jonathan Hooper said: “The 12 selected players have been training very well and deserve to be in the squad. The effort and commitment shown from all the other players that made up the highly competitive training squad have ensured that this group are ready to compete. We’re really excited to see these players perform in Poland.”
Senior Wales stars like Bethan Lewis, Lleucu George and GB Sevens starlet Kayleigh Powell have all plied their trade at this level. Powell will be Hooper’s assistant coach at this tournament.
The squad selected for this tournament were selected after impressing in the U18s Regional Programme, Rosslyn Park National School 7s, Urdd WRU 7s and the Gwent 7s.
