WELSH PREMIERSHIP ROUND UP
The Wizards needed a magic wand badly as they fell to their 22nd defeat at Pontypool in the last 23 visits, having drawn on the other occasion. Fly half Sam Mills contributed 21 points to the Pooler cause.
Cross Keys took over in fourth spot after their first-ever league win at near-neighbours Newbridge. The latter had former threequarter Steve Cross in charge as coach, but went down 19-6.
Llanharan were just robbed of what would have been a notable win over Swansea at the Dairy Field, as a late Aaron Bramwell penalty brought the All-Whites a 21-all draw.
Bridgend came away with a 22-7 win at Bridge Field, Bedwas, where the home side has had little luck this season and Carmarthen Quins won a dour 26-20 battle over Caerphilly, who are scoring tries, but losing matches.
Pontypridd won 17-6 at Llandovery, with the home side failing to score a try for the third time in four outings and a brace by full back Morgan Stoddart gave Ponty the win.
