Scheduled to take place at Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday, June 1st, Judgement Day will aim to raise crucial funds and awareness for Second Half Rugby – the esteemed charity of the Welsh Rugby Players Association (WRPA).
In addition to on-the-day collections, fans will have the opportunity to contribute to Second Half Rugby in the lead-up to Judgement Day. A series of engaging skills challenges will soon
be shared across social media platforms. Supporters, community rugby players, and rugby
stars alike can engage and compete, with exclusive Judgement Day prizes to be won.
Established by the WRPA in 2017, Second Half Rugby is a registered charity dedicated to supporting professional rugby players in Wales during challenging times. Whether financial,
medical, or mental health related, Second Half strives to provide assistance where it’s needed most. From covering expenses incurred due to career-ending injuries to offering support for rehabilitation and essential living costs, Second Half Rugby stands as a pillar of support for rugby players in need.
Speaking about the partnership CEO of the WRPA Gareth Lewis said: “This exciting partnership demonstrates the collective appreciation and support of those players that have given their all to the sport here in Wales. We look forward to engaging the fans across social media channels in some fun challenges over the coming weeks.”
Ashton Hewitt, WRPA Chairman and Trustee of Second Half Rugby, added, “Players, past and present, deeply value the support extended by the four regions. We are hopeful that this heightened visibility of our charity will translate into vital funds to aid our teammates during
challenging times.”
Judgement Day serves as a fitting finale to the BKT United Rugby Championship, featuring an exhilarating double-header event with Scarlets vs. Dragons at 15:00, followed by Cardiff vs. Ospreys at 17:15. Secure your tickets for this thrilling event HERE.
