Joyce, 28, from St Davids and Powell, 25, from Church Village are the two Welsh players named in the 14-player GB Sevens squad.
Joyce has won 38 Wales caps for the Senior 15s team and made her debut for Wales against Scotland in 2017. She has played for GB Sevens in two previous Olympics in Rio in 2016 and Tokyo 2020. Both times GB missed out on the medals and finished fourth.
Powell has been capped 16 times for the Wales Senior 15s side and the Paris 2024 will be her first Olympics. She made her Wales debut against Ireland in 2019.
Both have been part of the GB Sevens squad competing in the World Series.
Ioan Cunningham, the Wales Head coach, said: “This a fantastic achievement for Jaz and Kayleigh and they fully deserve the opportunity to showcase their talents on the Olympic stage in Paris in July.
“To have two Welsh international rugby players represent Great Britain Sevens is an achievement the whole nation should be proud of.
“Jaz and KP are key players with the national side and will be unavailable for the Wales WXV Play-off game against Spain but their selection for the GB Sevens squad is the reward for all the hard work they have put in.”
Joyce and Powell are on hybrid contracts with the Welsh Rugby Union and GB Sevens and both players featured in Wales’ recent Guinness Women’s Six Nations campaign.
Wales face Spain in their crucial WXV play-off clash at Cardiff Arms Park on Saturday, June 29th (KO: 5.35pm).
