Get ready for an action packed weekend of rugby

It’s derby day at Cardiff Arms Park this Saturday when the whole of Wales gets to decide if East or West is best!

Cardiff Rugby take on the Scarlets at 3.00pm, on the back of a thrilling, end-to-end, meeting with Glasgow Warriors which would have delighted the attack coaches of each side in the Welsh capital last Friday.

The home side conceded 52 points but collected a try bonus point as part of their own 36-point haul in a free-flowing spectacle to keep themselves in the hunt near the top of the United Rugby Championship points table.

The Scarlets also lost at home last Saturday, but there was only a point in it with visitors Connacht scraping a 24-23 victory at Parc y Scarlets for the round three clash.

The West Wales side will be looking to reverse their second round home defeat to Cardiff Rugby (15-24) and pick up their first win of the season this weekend, after drawing with Benetton in the opening round.

Elsewhere in Wales Ospreys sit in ninth place on the points table and will be looking to edge upwards when they host Vodacom Bulls, also on Saturday (Kick-off 7.35pm), who are just two spots ahead of them.

Ospreys were on the wrong end of a 23-0 defeat to Munster in round three and the Dragons lost 30-33 to Hollywoodbets Sharks, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, at Rodney Parade after a titanic struggle.

Dragons had defiantly got themselves into a winning position but had to withstand a massive onslaught from the South Africans in the dying moments.

The hosts had led 22-5 at one point in the first half before conceding three tries inside ten minutes either side of the break and then going back in front through skipper Ben Carter ahead of the grandstand finish.

In the end, it was five points to the Sharks and two for the Dragons, with both teams having played their part in an enthralling encounter.

The reward for the Dragons is another visit from a South African powerhouse-side with the Lions due at Rodney Parade in this weekend’s fourth round on Sunday (Kick-off 2.30pm).
