The Welsh side had been given a tough fixture list with back-to-back games against a team packed with Irish internationals. The visitors were still waiting for their first win of this league campaign before the end of the first block of fixture and a bye week.
A young and new look Brython Thunder squad is still learning its trade in the new cross-border competition between sides from Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Welsh international and Thunder skipper, Natalia John, led from the front in typical fashion assisted by backrowers Lucy Isaac and Jess Rogers.
Scrum half Seren Singleton, once again, showed what a prospect she is but this was a tough afternoon for the Welsh side.
The Thunder were forced into a late change before kick-off with Wales centre Hannah Bluck being ruled out and Gabby Healan moving from the bench into the starting line-up.
Centre Healan crossed for the visitors only try just before the whistle.
Ireland international Aofie Wafer, the Irish rugby writers Women’s Player of the Year, was back at Number 8 for the home side.
Wolfhounds opened the scoring after four minutes with a slick back move with centre Aoife Dalton crossed in the corner. Fly half Dannah O’Brien added the extras.
Wing Anna Doyle then scored one of the tries of the season from the Wolfhounds own line and go the length of the field to extend the Irish sides lead. O’Brien converted to make it 14-0.
Doyle crossed for her second and third try midway through the first half to extend the home side’s lead 26-0 at half-time.
After the break, centre Dalton crossed for her second try, wing Doyle crossed for her fourth try in the corner and O’Brien added a conversion.
Wolfhounds replacement Kelly Burke crossed from a driving maul, before Leah Tarpey scored an interception try. Centre Dalton crossed for her third try, converted by O’Brien.
Centre Healan crossed for Brython Thunder just before full-time to get the visitors on the scoreboard.
