OSPREYS JONES TO UNDERGO OPERATION

Ospreys outside half Matthew Jones has had an operation to remedy a long standing groin injury.  Initial assessments suggest that the operation has been a success and Matthew hopes to return to the field in time to be available for selection against Bristol on 4th December

Regional Rugby Manager, Derwyn Jones said:  “We have had Matthew’s injury under assessment for some time and while it has improved it has not recovered 100%.  The November period has given Matthew an opportunity to have the necessary procedure to put in place a long term fix. 

“Matthew can take heart from Shane Williams’ quick recovery from an identical injury and we are confident that he will be fully fit in time for our December fixtures.  It will be great to have a fully fit Matthew Jones back for us as we go into the Heineken Cup and local derbies that we face during December”
