SMOOTH START FOR NORTH’S CUP DEFENCE

Llandaff North started strongly with their pack providing quick ball for the backs.  Good passing from Fly Half Mullen enabled North to make a break down the wing and score through Full Back Jess Kidley.

Llandaff North capitalised on this good start and further increased the score through a good passage of play linking forwards and backs for Sophie Wilkinson to cross the line through a superb dummy.  Further first half tries were scored through Gemma Williams, Abby King and Prop Jess Bain for her first try for Llandaff North. Half time score 27-0.

Llandaff North maintained their momentum and kept the ball moving in the second half with good off loading by the forwards to support runners, Rowena Jameson being particularly prominent.  Quins unrelenting pressure was rewarded through Player/Coach Nadine Griffiths scoring under the posts after repeated strong attacks in the home team’s 22.

Quins continued to attack well, using Full Back Jilly Holroyd to cut through the middle and test the North’s defence.  But North finished strongly with Jess Kidley and Abby King adding to their personal tally, and debut making Suzanne Coward scoring her first try for North in the last move of the game.  Final score 42-5.
