Turner kicked 11 goals to complement second-rower David Hefford’s try in a 16-3 victory at Nantymoel.

Early-season front-runners Pill Harriers are in danger of falling off the pace with a 19-14 loss at Llantrisant, whose winger Glen Holloway scored a hat-trick of tries,  while Brynmawr continue to anchor the table with a 35-3 loss at Croesyceiliog – their seventh straight defeat of the season.

In Division 3 East, Abergavenny and Senghenydd grabbed narrow victories to join Fairwater at the top of the table. Abergavenny beat Llanishen 19-17 at home, while winless Risca produced their best performance of the season before suffering a heart-breaking 11-10 loss to Senghenydd, whose outside-half Alun Ford kicked two crucial penalty goals.

In Division 3 South-East, Treherbert opened a handy five-point lead at the topof the table with an   impressive 25-6 win at second-placed Pencoed, with Ynysybwl (37-32 winners over Pentyrch) and Gilfach Goch (12-5 winners at Brecon) close in behind.

Garndiffaith and St Peters continue their struggle at the top of Division 4 East, with both sides recording their eighth win of the season. Garndiffaith ground out a 15-10 victory at Newport HSOB, while St Peters winger James Spackman scored two tries as they beat Monmouth 24-14. Oakdale crashed to their eighth loss in eight games – 45-8 at mid-table Chepstow.

Penarth strode to the top of Division 4 South-East with a 53-0 pounding of bottom-placed and winless Dinas Powys, but they lead by only three points from Penallta, who have two games in hand.

Machen’s 21-14 win at Usk keeps their unbeaten record intact and their nose ahead in Division 5 East. Bettws (31-8 winners over Caldicot) and Blaenavon (16-10 winners over Gwernyfed) joined Machen on 24 points. RTB Ebbw Vale are still looking for their first points of the season after a 27-0 shutout at St
Albans, while father and son Morgan and Adrian Parry both scored points in Blaenavon’s 16-10 win over Gwernyfed.

Division 5 South-East looks like a two-team battle between Porth and Bridgend Sports after both clubs recorded huge victories on Saturday. Leaders Porth smashed Pontyclun 59-7 and Bridgend Sports returned from Ogmore Vale with a 42-0 victory.
