OSPREYS GUN FOR WARRIORS
Glasgow Warriors are just two points behind the Ospreys in the table, but this is a battle for eighth place .
The Ospreys – who are outgoing Celtic League champions – have had a faltering season, albeit a season where injuries and suspensions cost them dear.
The Ospreys have lost two of their last three matches but both of those were played away from home. At Liberty Stadium the Ospreys have won three in a row against Clermont Auvergne, Border Reivers and Edinburgh Gunners.
An Head Coach, Lyn Jones is pleased with his side’s recent performances. “I was reasonably satisfied with the effort shown by the players in last weeks defeat at Stradey Park,” he said.
 The progress we are showing is gradual, but it was an improvement on our previous outings away from home this year against other Welsh regions and that is pleasing”
“However, as we have said all year it is vital to win your home games, and Glasgow Warriors present us with a different challenge. They will have confidence with several of their starting fifteen having represented Scotland in their successful Six Nations campaign.Â
Players such as Dan Parks, John Petrie and Andrew Henderson were all prominent in Scotland’s success, and I am sure they will be looking to bring that form into the regional fixtures”
But Ospreys are going for an eighth successive home win against Scottish opposition. The Ospreys’ only previous loss to Glasgow was 34-31 at Hughenden in May 2004, whilst the Ospreys won 22-8 when the two met at Old Anniesland in January. and Jones said of his opponents.
“Glasgow play a fast open game, offloading well in the tackle, and they have always been a difficult side to beat. It should be an entertaining spectacle for the supporter and with us having played a lot of our rugby this season on a Sunday it is great to have a fixture in a more traditional Saturday spot.”
Glasgow have won just one of their last six encounters in the Celtic League since December: 26-20 against Munster at Thomond Park on 18 February. The Warriors have lost all five games against opponents from Wales this season.
