LEINSTER EYE OSPREYS CROWN

Leinster were hot favourites coming into the clash but were made to work for their narrow triumph by a Reivers side looking to bolster their chances of Heineken Cup rugby next season. Elsewhere, Newport Gwent Dragons extended their strong run at Rodney Parade by upsetting title-chasing Munster with a 23-17 triumph.

Cardiff Blues secured their third successive Celtic League victory by sweeping aside fourth-placed Edinburgh Gunners at 21-10 at Murrayfield to prevent them from cranking up the pressure on the leaders.

In the round’s final game Gavin Henson scored a late penalty to give the Ospreys a 16-13 win over Glasgow Warriors. The victory moves the Ospreys into seventh place in the table – ahead of both the Scarlets and the Dragons in the race for Heineken Cup places next season.
