Fellow high-flyers Ulster were once again grateful for the efforts of fly-half David Humphreys who kept his side’s title challenge on course by slotting over five penalties in a 27-18 win over Glasgow Warriors at Firhill on Saturday.
Munster ensured that Irish provinces filled the top three positions in the table after bouncing back to winning ways in the Celtic League with a comprehensive 6 try, 36-15 victory over former leaders Edinburgh Gunners at a packed Thomond Park.
Elsewhere this weekend, Connacht secured back-to-back Celtic League victories for the first time since November 2004 thanks to a narrow 15-10 win over the Dragons –Â and kept their hopes for a Heineken Cup play-off spot alive – whilst the Blues extended their rich vein of form with a 46-11 victory over Border Reivers at the Arms Park, the Robinson brothers, Jamie and Nick contributing a brace of tries and 12 points with the boot respectively.
