Dai Flanagan
Outside half Dai Flanagan played for Ystrad Mynach at junior level and was called up to the Pontypridd academy at the age of seventeen. He was part of the Pontypridd senior squad in the 2003–2004 season, gaining full regional academy status with the Cardiff Blues at the start of the 2005–2006 season.
Flanagan was the hero of the Konica Minolta Cup Final in May 2006, firing over an injury time drop goal to clinch the cup for Pontypridd. He made his senior debut with the Blues in the 2005–2006 season against Pontypridd (in a pre-season friendly), scoring two conversions. Flanagan made four appearances for the Blues region during the 2006–2007 season.
Flanagan has represented Wales at U16, U19 and U21 levels, captaining the U19 squad at the 2004 IRB World Championships in South Africa. In March 2007 Flanagan was one of three debutants included in the Wales Sevens squad. He played in the Hong Kong leg of the IRB Sevens World Series, scoring a try in the 61-0 demolition of Chinese Taipei; the team went on to secure the Plate trophy in the tournament.
