Rhys made his senior Welsh debut during the summer of 2013, coming on as a replacement in both of the Tests against Japan, scoring his first international points when he kicked a penalty.
This product of Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf began his club rugby for CRICC before moving on to Cardiff High School Old Boys Youth and the WRU Blues regional age grade teams and academy.
On the international front, he previously represented Wales Sevens and Wales Under 18. He made his regional debut in the LV= Cup in 2011/12.
