The highly rated Dragons second row has captained his country at both U18 and U19 level.
Alongside fellow debutant Morgan Strong, he made 29 tackles in his first game for Wales U20 against Italy in the opening round of the 2020 Six Nations, to sit alongside Ireland’s James Ryan who achieved the same number against Scotland in 2016, as the leading tackler from any game in the championship.
Carter made his senior debut for Dragons in the Guinnss PRO14 clash with Munster in November 2020 and his first start away at Glasgow Warriors a month later, before also appearing in the Heineken Champions Cup campaign in 2020/21.
A rapid rise for the towering lock was complete when he was called up by Wales coach Wayne Pivac at the end of his debut season for the 2021 summer internationals against Canada and Argentina.
