Leon Brown
Cap No 1141
Leon Brown played his first match for Dragons at U16 level against the Ospreys in 2012 having learned his rugby at the St Joseph’s RFC mini section, St Joseph’s and Newport High School. He began his senior career at Cross Keys and was the Principality Premiership player of the month for October, 2015. That honour came two months after he had played for Wales U18 on tour in South Africa.
He played for the Dragons Premiership Select XV in the B&I Cup while playing at Pandy Park and made his senior Dragons debut against Leicester Tigers in the Anglo-Welsh Cup in 2016. He won Wales caps at U20 level, vying with Cardiff Blues rival Dillon Lewis for the tight-head spot in the 2016 Grand Slam season, and at the Junior World Championship later that same year.
He was one of four talented youngsters called-up to train with the Wales squad under Rob Howley during the 2016 Autumn Series. Keelan Giles, Rhun Williams and Harrison Keddie were the other members of the quartet and he beat them all to win full Wales honours.
His international debut came as a 74th minute replacement against Australia in a 29-21 defeat on 11 November, 2017, and a week later he started in the 13-6 win over Georgia. His next start came the following year in the 2018 autumn series victory over Tonga.
