Steff Evans
Cap No 1130
Steffan Evans is another Coleg Sir Gar product who was part of a potent back division that also boasted Josh Adams. He won international honours for Wales at U18 and 20 levels and is a graduate of the Scarlets Academy.
His regional debut came in 2014 and he was put on stand-by for Wales’ 2016 summer tour to New Zealand. He was included in a senior Wales Squad for first time for the 2017 Six Nations campaign.
After becoming a regular at Parc y Scarlets during the 2015/16 campaign he enjoyed a breakthrough season under Wayne Pivac in 2016/17. He topped the try-scoring charts with 11 and helped the Scarlets capture the Guinness PRO12 title. He had been sent off in the semi-final win over Leinster at the RDS Arena, but had his red card rescinded and was able to play against Munster in the final. He scored a try in the stunning 46-22 victory at the Aviva Stadium. He also played in the 2018 Guinness PRO14 final defeat to Leinster.
Although he had received the call from Warren Gatland to join his squad for the 2017 Six Nations, he didn’t get a game and had to wait until the summer tour later that year to earn his first cap. That came in the win over Tonga in Auckland and a week later he scored twice in the victory against Samoa in Apia.
He scored another try in his next international against Australia before making four appearances in the 2018 Six Nations campaign. He was an unused squad member during the 2019 Six Nations Grand Slam triumph.
