Taine Plumtree

The son of rugby coach John Plumtree, Taine was born in Wales while his father coached Swansea RFC, and later moved to South Africa when his father was head coach of the Sharks. Plumtree also qualified internationally for South Africa, through his mother.
Plumtree attended and played for Wellington College and was part of the New Zealand U20 side that lost to Wales in the 2019 U20 World Rugby Championship held in Argentina.
Plumtree played for Wellington in the NPC, and for the Blues in Super Rugby. He was a member of the Wellington 2020 Mitre 10 Cup squad. He was named in the Blues squad for the 2021 Super Rugby Aotearoa season, making his debut during the season.
On 27 June 2023, Plumtree signed for the Scarlets.
