Phil Davies’ side return to league action match having won their last two contests against the Dragons and Munster.
They face a Leinster side who have won four straight games in all competitions since losing 19-27 to table topping Ulster just before Christmas.
The Irish province, who sit third in the PRO12 table prior to tomorrow night’s match, have lost just one of their last 12 clashes with the Blues in all tournaments since 2007.
And with their 10-19 loss to the Ospreys in November their only defeat to a Welsh region in their last five encounters, Blues Director of Rugby Phil Davies knows his side are in for a tough test.
“Leinster are ahead of us in this process but we are heading in the right direction,” he said.
“For me, tomorrow’s game has a bit of pride attached to what we have to deliver.
“Over in Dublin it was not a good performance. The second half was creditable but in the first half we got hammered. I didn’t enjoy that. I didn’t enjoy the game or what happened afterwards.”
The Blues go into the clash with Leinster on the back of a narrow 10-6 win over London Irish in the LV=Cup.
With Davies still missing his key Welsh internationals, the region’s young guns are again given the chance to maintain their recent good run.
There is space for Scott Andrews and Josh Navidi on the bench though after they were released from Six Nations duty with Wales but Andries Pretorius misses out altogether.
“The aim we have as a region over the next four to five years is to build a strong squad,” Davies added.
“I have no doubt we will be stronger going into the end of this season than we were last year. Next season we will be stronger again.
“We have to lay a strong marker down on Friday and put in a massive performance against one of the top squads in Europe.
“It is a great challenge for the team. We want to try and win the next few games so we can keep pushing towards the top four.”
