Newport Gwent Dragons head coach Darren Edwards has kept faith with all but one of the side who beat Munster last time out for their final game of the season away to Edinburgh.

The Dragons got the better of Munster at Rodney Parade a week last Friday and will be looking to give Wales and British and Irish Lions flanker Dan Lydiate a fitting send off as he plays his last game for the region.

For the trip to Murrayfield, Edwards includes Dan Evans at full back after his recovery from an injury sustained whilst playing against Ulster.

Ross Wardle, who was man of the match against Munster, remains in a centre pairing alongside young gun Lewis Robling, who has impressed for Bedwas in the Principality Premiership.

It is Lydiate who will make the headlines though as he looks to end what has been a superb week with a win. Alongside regional teammate Toby Faletau, Lydiate was named in Warren Gatland’s Lions squad and can now look forward to a summer tour of Australia.

For now though, he is focusing solely on the Dragons as he looks to end his time at Rodney Parade on a high.

“We’ve got Edinburgh and want to finish the season strongly,” said Lydiate, who has seen his season interrupted by injury.

“Against Munster we showed good spirit and worked hard as a team, which hasn’t always been the case this season.

“We need to produce the same again and hopefully that will be enough to earn another win.”

Both Lydiate and Faletau start for the Dragons while skipper Andrew Coombs and wing Tom Prydie, who this week were named in Wales’ training squad for the tour of Japan, also feature.

On the bench, Hallam Amos returns from ankle injury with Pat Leach offering another option as a replacement.

But after missing large parts of the season with injury, Lydiate is looking forward to getting more games under his belt ahead of a trip to Australia.

“I felt a lot more like my old self against Munster and I hope to go well against Edinburgh,” he added.

“It’s an important game for me and I need all the minutes I can get. I just have to focus on the task at hand and know from the past that if you look too far ahead things seem to crop up.”
