Last season’s skipper will fill the boots of Andrew Coombs who is currently away with the Welsh squad alongside No. 8 Toby Faletau.
Dragons Director of Rugby Lyn Jones has made a total of eight changes to his starting XV this week, with Pat Leach returning to the fold after spending almost seven weeks out with an elbow injury. He partners Ross Wardle in the centre with Hallam Amos moving from wing to full back.
“Leinster always bring a formidable team and we know that a challenge will be coming up this weekend,” said Evans.
“Their strength and depth in the squad is unbelievable and we have lost our two internationals and have had to bring in some of the guys who probably haven’t had much game time this year.”
After recovering from concussion, Jason Tovey returns at fly half and is partnered by Richie Rees.
The front row remains the same as with Matthew Screech and Adam Jones at lock. Netani Talei takes on the No. 8 jersey.
