The home side will be looking to bounce back after last weekend’s defeat to Exeter Chiefs. The Ospreys have given Ross Jones his first start at full back while Chauncey O’Toole will make his Ospreys debut if he comes off the bench
Acting Head Coach, Steve Tandy, commented: “It’s a special occasion for the Ospreys and for Bridgend this weekend, and everybody is genuinely excited about playing this game at the Brewery Field.
“It’s a familiar ground for some of us, as Head Coach of Bridgend I’m really proud to be taking an Ospreys team there, and for the Bridgend youngsters in the team it’s huge, to be able to play for your region at your home town club.
“Taking regional rugby to Bridgend is a big statement by the Ospreys, we want to see the local community supporting us this weekend, and really sending out a clear message of what we’re about.
“They were great occasions last season and I don’t expect this weekend to be any different. It’s an old fashioned, compact ground and the crowd are right on top of you so there should be a great atmosphere, with the crowd right behind us, and it’ll be up to us to reward them with a good performance.
“We were disappointed with last weekend’s performance. Yes, it was a young side with a few players making their debuts, but we didn’t reach the standards that we expect in a number of key areas. We’ve worked hard this week to put things right, there’s a good attitude in the group and we’re expecting to see them bounce back and show true Ospreys spirit.”
