The Welsh region ran out comfortable winners, crossing for five tries. Wings Aled Brew and Tonderai Chavhanga, lock Robert Sidoli, flanker Lewis Evans and full back Martyn Thomas all touched down for tries against an Italian outfit which had won its last four games in the Italian championship.
Fly-half Jason Tovey, who was named man of the match, produced another impressive performance and slotted over four of his side’s five conversions to give the Men of Gwent a perfect start to their Euro campaign.
Brew and Sidoli crossed for early tries but the home side made a decent fist of things against the Welsh side in a tight first half which ended 3 v 14.
South African flyer Chavhanga, Evans and Thomas then all touched down ina much more one-sided second periods.
