Dragons crash to heavy defeat

Two Tom Prydie penalties were not enough for the Dragons as they came up short against Glasgow Warriors at Scotstoun.

The Scottish side dominated from kick-off and ran in five tries to grab a maximum points haul.

Darren Edwards’ men are now last but one in the PRO12 table with just one win from their last nine matches in all competitions.

Both teams were shorn of their international players. Glasgow were hardest hit but it did little to effect them as they ran riot.

Scott Wight got the scoreboard ticking for the hosts and Peter Murchie opened the try-scoring after Lewis Robling failed to deal with a kick through.

Gordon Reid grabbed the second on the half-hour mark, and demonstrated an impressive turn of pace for a front-row forward.

Prydie responded with the boot and exchanged shots at goal with Wight to bring the scores to 20-6 at the interval.

But the floodgates opened in the second-half with Tom Ryder quickly getting on the score sheet and they bagged the bonus-point after Niko Matawalu broke clear from a quick-tap and released Tommy Seymour.

And the wing grabbed an impressive second after chipping over the Dragons defence to race clear.
