After a tame first half in which the home side could only reply with a single penalty from Gareth Bowen in response to two from the boot of Alex King, the Scarlets took the lead with the first try of the game in the second half.
An opportunitst effort gifted Dafydd James the honours;Â he intercepted King’s loose pass to cross the whitewash and become the joint top try-scorer in tournament history.
Mark Jones notched the second try for the home side as the game entered the last fifteen minutes of play, breaking from the half way line and beating Wasps fullback Mark van Gisbergen to the line.
Wasps responded, with excellent support work from Matt Dawson and King allowing replacement Tom Rees to ground the ball. Van Gisbergen converted to take Wasps within two points of their their hosts at 15-13 down but two late penalty efforts from Bowen pushed the Scarlets back into an unassailable lead, denying the English giants a losing bonus point in the proceedings.
