There was more good news when Coach Phil Davies allayed injury fears over Wales scrum half Dwayne Peel who hyper extended his elbow. Peel left the field early in the second half but is not expected to be ruled out for any length of time.
James opened his account after just 70 seconds, racing on Simon Easterby’s pass after Leinster had fumbled straight from the kick off. Afeaki followed inside four minutes, Peel involved twice as the Scarlets surged up field following a turnover before King delivered the scoring pass.
James grabbed a second thanks to Ceiron Thomas’s vision. The young full back was hauled down just short of the line after King and Matthew Watkins combined. King then secured a bonus point with the Scarlet’s  fourth after just 23 minutes, when he stepped around his man for a third try in two games.
It was a remarkable attacking display but the Scarlets also had to dig deep in defence to survive a spirited comeback by Leinster after Denis Hickie grabbed two tries and Trevor Hogan also crossed. Hickie went over either side of half time as the Scarlets stepped off the gas and Hogan’s try briefly brought Leinster back to within nine points. Man of the match, Stephen Jones, settled the Scarlets nerves slotting over two penalties at crucial times to secure maximum points for the league leaders.
