Scarlets coach had to go into the game at Scotstoun against the Warriors without Welsh international front row men Rhodri Jones, Ken Owens and Emyr Phillips. He also lost Wales tight head Samson Lee with a neck problem before the game.

Full back Williams and back row man Shingler are both in contention to be included in Warren Gatland’s Six Nations squad and the full extent of their injuries won’t be known until early next week.

“You could see with Liam – he was obviously holding that shoulder so he had to come off and we’ll have some news in the next day or so. We’ll see how they both scrub up in the next 48 hours, but both are a bit sore at the moment,” said Pivac after the game.

The Scarlets led 7-5 at the break in Glasgow thanks to a brilliant solo try from Liam Williams that Rhys Priestland converted. But with the elements in their favour in the second half the home side scored 17 unanswered points as they leap-frogged over the Ospresy to the top of the Guinness PRO12 table.

The Warriors ran in three tries, two of which Finn Russell converted. Russell also landed a penalty.
