EDINBURGH 32 SCARLETS 12

Edinburgh outscored the Scarlets by 32 points to 12 in Friday night’s Magners League match at Murrayfield.

It was the first win of the season for the Scottish side, and conversely, the first defeat of the season for the Welsh side who missed out on the chance to go top of the table with the Ospreys’ defeat to Leinster.

Mark Robertson scored two tries, with Alan Jacobsen and Nick De Luca also crossing. Chris Paterson kicked three conversions, and Phil Godman contributed a penalty and a drop-goal.

Second-half scores from Norman Stoddart and Mark Roberts, along with a Nathan Thomas conversion put the visitors on the board, but it was too little too late for Nigel Davies’ side, who remain in second place on the table.
