Wales Team Manager and Selector, Alan Phillips, is a former British & Irish Lions, Wales and Cardiff hooker. He won 18 Wales caps between 1979-87. Phillips toured South Africa with the British & Irish Lions in 1980. He scored his only try for Wales in the 1987 Rugby World Cup against Canada on 3rd June 1987.
He started his club career at Kenfig Hill before moving to Cardiff where he won the WRU Challenge Cup several times, scoring 162 tries in 481 appearances. He was appointed the Wales Team Manager in succession to David Pickering in the autumn of 2002.
