As a player, he was one of the most decorated Welsh players to have graced the game. He won 129 caps for Wales and five more for the British & Irish Lions. He held the record for most Welsh caps until Alun Wyn Jones overtook him on 29 September 2019.
The most capped front row forward in history, he is among a small group of Welsh players to have won three Grand Slams.
He began his coaching career with Cardiff RFC at the conclusion of his illustrious playing career and has also coached the Cardiff Blues development side.
