Highly rated Tenby product Hughes joined the Scarlets Academy in 2021 as an 18-year-old.
He has been in the Scarlets development pathway since his Dewar Shield U15 selection for Mynydd Mawr and Dinefwr Schools and has gone on to play representative regional rugby for Scarlets U16s and U18s.
He made his senior Scarlets debut against Nottingham in Dwayne Pee’ls first game as coach in September 2021, and scored twice as a replacement on debut.
