A pupil at St John Lloyd Catholic Comprehensive School in Llanelli, Giannini, who played for Llanelli Wanderers and Llanelli RFC while progressing through the Scarlets Academy ranks, is a cousin of Zak Giannini who has previously played at prop for Wales U20s.

Both hail from a large Italian family with Luca’s father, Salvatore, the current club president at Division One West, Llanelli Wanderers.

He has featured for Indigo Prem outfit Llandovery this season. A dynamic ball carrier, he is strong in the contact area with the ability to turn opposition ball over. A further plus is he has the skillset to play across the back row.
