A former Castell Alun High School student, Cottle came through the ranks at Mold and played alongside fellow Welsh U20s squad member Dylan Alford in the second row for RGC’s U18 Regional Age Grade in the 2023/24 campaign.
Just prior to the 2025 Six Nations campaign beginning, it was announced he had signed a senior academy contract with Cardiff Rugby. The former Wales U18 second row will combine his academy programme with game-time for Cardiff RFC in Super Rygbi Cymru and study at Cardiff Met.
