All-action Wales Women prop Amy Evans is proud of the progress made by the team this autumn.

Former international weightlifter Amy Evans believes Wales Women have made significant progress in recent months.

The powerhouse, who played in all three of Wales’ autumn Tests – starting against South Africa and Canada and coming on from the bench against Hong Kong – believes the regional pre-season training and playing programme, along with three November internationals, has set up the side to make further improvements in the forthcoming Women’s Six Nations.

She said, “We’ve shown over the last few weeks what Wales Women are about and I’m really proud of the team. Our physicality is now matching the bigger sides and in the first 65 minutes against Canada, the No 4 side in the world, we showed a huge improvement compared to when we played them in the world cup.

“We’re going to go from strength to strength as we go into the Six Nations and beyond as we look ahead to the next world cup.

“The competitive regionally games helped us to prepare for the international games and meant we were all singing off same page. We’re much better than we were and we’re only going to keep developing.

Aloong with the other Wales Women squad members, Aberdare gym owner Evans will now enjoy some rest and return to club rugby, along with helping others reach their personal fitness and performance goals at Dare Fitness.
