Wales set for World Sevens Series
Wales Sevens star Richie Pugh talks about the shortened version of the game as he and his team-mates prepare for the opening leg of the World Sevens Series in Dubai this weekend.
Pugh has been joined by fellow World Cup winner Tom Isaacs as Paul John’s men get ready for what is set to be another thrilling season of Sevens rugby.
John has selected a mix of youth and experience in his squad for the first two rounds of action in Dubai and George, South Africa, with two new caps in Dragons centre Rhodri Gomer-Davies and young Blues centre Owen Williams, a member of last season’s Wales Under 20 side.
Scarlets lock Aaron Shingler picked up his first Wales Sevens cap at the recent Commonwealth Games in Delhi, while Gavin Dacey also makes a return to the squad and Jevon Groves retains the captaincy of the side. Cardiff University wing Will Jones is training with the squad as a travelling reserve.
