Wales take on the ‘Flying Fijians’ in the third game of their Autumn Internationals at Principality Stadium following a Guinness Six Nations Championship title earlier this year.

Official tickets for Wales’ Autumn Nations Cup fixtures will go on public sale from the 12th August 2021 and will be available to purchase on our Official Online Ticket Office, through your local WRU member rugby club or via Principality Stadium Experience for a day out to remember.

Getting to know Fiji

  • Rugby Union is the national sport of Fiji and is believed to have been played on it’s Islands since 1884 when fixtures were played between European and Fijian soldiers of the Native Constabulary within the Ba District of Fiji.
  • Wales and Fiji have a rugby history that dates back over 50 years since Wales hosted the pacific Islanders in a non-capped game in front of a packed-out Cardiff Arms Park after impressing the Welsh public during displays of style and passion against regional sides as part of their 1964 tour.
  • The Cibi. The All Blacks (New Zealand) are well known for performing the Haka; a traditional ceremonial dance or challenge ahead of their international rugby fixtures however many of the pacific island teams perform their own war cries ahead of matches including Fiji which is known as The Cibi which has been used ahead of their rugby union fixtures since 1939.
  • Fiji has some of the most exciting and naturally talented rugby players in the world including Olympic 7s Gold Medalists Leone Nakarawa, Josh Tuisova, and Viliame ‘Bill’ Mata as well as the wrecking ball that is Semi Radradra who shined for Fiji at last years Rugby World Cup.
  • Fiji’s current top points scorer and most capped player Nicky Little made 14 appearances for Pontypridd RFC during the 2001-2002 season filling in for Neil Jenkins during a spell with Cardiff RFC.
  • Current Wales head coach Wayne Pivac coached the Fijian national side between 2004-2007 in which they won the 2004 pacific Tri-Nations as well as the 2005 Rugby World Cup Sevens.
