One-cap wing Selley, who will be a direct replacement for leg-injury victim Chris Czekaj, has linked up with the Blues in an arrangement that will last for a season. Rees has seen Selley’s sparkling form at first hand after the Ospreys back played a starring role in the Wales Sevens’ march to the semi-finals of the Murrayfield leg of the IRBÂ Sevens Series.
Sevens Coach Rees believes the regional switch can resurrect a promising career that has stalled since his solitary Wales appearance against USA in 2005. Rees said: “Tal’s a regional player and this move is a good one for Tal, he needs to be playing regularly and this will now give him the chance to do so.
“He performed well for the Sevens and grabbing the headlines has certainly played a part in helping him earn his move. He’s quick, skilfull and will be a good asset for the Blues without a doubt.”
Selley, 25, is the second Ospreys player to be loaned to a fellow Welsh region in a week. Last week the Dragons captured of Richard Mustoe on loan.
