Welsh officials have been handed appointments in eight of the Quilter Nations Series matches, with a full house taking control in the second week of action in November. Craig Evans is the first to see action in the first week of matches when he will run the line for Georgia’s Nika Amashykeli when England host Australia at Allianz Stadium on Saturday, 1 November. The following week there is a full house with Ben Breakspear heading the cast as referee when Romania take on Canada at Arcul du Triumf in Bucharest. Adam Jones and Ben Connor will be his assistant referees while Aled Griffiths will be the Television Match Official. In the following week the Welsh officials will be spread far and wide with Breakspear and Connor heading to Portugal to be assistant referees for Hollie Davidson who will take charge at Estádio Nacional in Lisbon where Portugal entertain Hong Kong China while Griffiths heads to Georgia to be TMO where the home side tackle Canada at Adjarabet Arena in Batumi while Ben Whitehouse heads to Bucharest to be TMO where Romania host USA at Arcul du Triumf On Saturday, 22 November Breakspear and Griffiths will be assistant referee and TMO respectively when Romania host Uruguay Jones, Connor and Whitehouse head to Genova to assist RFU’s Adam Leal for the Italy v Chile clash. Jones and Connor will be assistant referees while Whitehouse will be the TMO. Evans will be an assistant referee for England’s Luke Pearce when he takes charge of the France v Australia clash at Stade de France. “Happy to see that we are making progress, we are now in the restaurant and just need to keep working hard to make sure we get a seat at the Chef’s table in the next few years. 2031 was my main target when I came into the role and I remain resolute in ensuring we have a referee in the middle at that Rugby World Cup, and every World Cup thereafter. "I don’t know what it is with refereeing in Wales but 20-odd years ago you had three Nigel’s (Whitehouse, Williams and Owens) being selected, now we have three Ben’s (Whitehouse, Connor and Breakspear), said WRU National Elite Performance referee, Ian Davies. "Connor and Breakspear’s appointments are testament to their domestic performances in the United Rugby Championship over the course of the past 12 months, where they have both made selectors sit up and take note.” The Emirates Match Official appointments confirm a busy month of November internationals as teams look to secure the best ranking possible ahead of the Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 Draw in December. Thirty-four of the 41 matches between 18 October and 29 November are tests with 23 referees from 11 nations set to referee these matches across four of World Rugby’s six regional associations.
