The former Wales fly-half praised the squad for the focus they have shown in training throughout the week after the opening defeat to England at the Millennium Stadium.
On the eve of kick-off in Scotland Jenkins said the experience his side have with Wales and the British and Irish Lions would help their confidence.
Jenkins said “We have to pick it up a gear and we have certainly done that all this week in training.
“We are looking forward to game against Scotland and the boys are ready to go.
The assistant coach said the England defeat was a particular blow after a strong first half at the Millennium Stadium, where Wales emerged 16-8 ahead.
“We played pretty well first half to be 16-8 up especially ending with a fantastic drop goal from Dan Biggar. They got that crucial first score in the second half and from then on, we put ourselves under more pressure.
“But we must remember we beat South Africa in November, which was a pretty good win in itself, so we know we can come back and we have the players to do it.
“Because it’s been such a good week we know we are capable of being better against Scotland. It’s a home game for Scotland and every team in this Championship, wants to win their home games.
“You have to if you want to win the tournament and we have won on the road in the past so we have got to make sure we focus ourselves for Murrayfield.”
