Owen Davies was first to cross the whitewash for Cardiff, with Owen Williams crossing for a brace while Rhodri Walls, George Thomas and Greg Ramage grabbed a score each to give them a 43-0 lead at half-time. The hosts scored further tries after the interval with Gareth Ansell, Charlie Stonehill and Charlie Dyde crossing.
Cardiff were also aided by the prolific boot of scrum half James Davies who kicked 23 points. All Swansea could muster was a late consolation try from Andy Claypole. Davies opened the scoring as the gathered a speculative kick downfield before chipping through, regathering and touching down.
Williams is the man who finds space on the left, and he’s free to cross the whitewash and pick his spot. He then grabbed his second try as he crashed over from short range after Swansea’s scrum had been annihilated.
Walls crossed next as some very slick handling from his inside backs allowed him to squeeze in at the corner.
Thomas finished off a glorious score for Cardiff after a well-worked backs move straight off the training paddock was executed to perfection.
From a Swansea perspective it was far too easy for Cardiff as a quickly taken penalty allowed Ramage to produce a penetrating run and scamper down the right to score. Dyde opened the second-half floodgates as he charged down a meek Swansea kick and dribbles the ball along the floor and over the line before touching down.
Ansell, Stonehill and Walls scored further tries before Claypole grabbed a consolation score for Swansea as he crashed over from short range. But Roberts rubbed salt into Swansea’s wounds with a final Cardiff try to put the icing on the cake.
