It was a day to remember for nine year old Rhodri Preston-Meek – and not just because Wales beat Scotland and won the rugby!
The Trefforest schoolboy became the five millionth visitor to the Millennium Stadium and to mark the event, he was presented with a commemorative T-shirt and a framed drawing of the Millenium Stadium by Wales legend Ieuan Evans.
Rhodri, who was with his grandad at the game said, ‘I’m a Celtic Warriors supporter and Richard Parks is my favourite player but it was great to meet Ieuan Evans too.’
The Millennium Sadium reached the five million milestone less than four and a half years after opening its doors for the first time on June 29 1999 when Wales pulled off a memorable victory by beating the then World Champions South Africa.
