Wales face France at Stade des Alpes in Grenoble on Sunday, April 23rd (KO: 3:15pm) and then face Italy at the Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi in Parma on April 29th (K:O 3.30pm).
Wales Women’s Senior squad will make history when they fly out to France in the next 24 hours and then travel to their base in Italy in Parma for a week-long training camp based on foreign soil for the first time during a Six Nations.
Wales are third in the table, having won their opening two games against Ireland and Scotland by a bonus point, and will be looking to bounce back after the defeat to England in front or a record crowd at Cardiff Arms Park, last Saturday.
Ioan Cunningham, the Wales Head coach, said.
“We are under no illusions of the importance of the final two games in this TikTok Six Nations campaign.
“We are making history by announcing a squad for what is effectively a training camp away during the Six Nations to prepare for the Test matches against France and Italy. It will give us more coaching and training time together.
“Normally, we would fly in and fly out for these games but this will allow the players and staff to really focus on our performances against France and Italy.
“We fly out to Grenoble in France and then travel the five hours by coach to Parma straight after the game to set up base for our final game of the tournament.
“It will mean we don’t have to factor in travel days and can review the France game and prepare for Italy.
“One of the strengths of this squad is their togetherness as a group and the more time we spend together, like we did in the World Cup in New Zealand, has always been beneficial.”
